We should be able to tell by student outcomes whether faculty are using the technology.
USEiT Report 12, Measuring Teachers' Technology Uses: Why Multiple Measures are More Revealing suggests use of separate survey items which focus on specific areas of technology use. Their findings indicate that "the use of distinct measures versus a generic measure provides a richer, more nuanced understanding of how technology use differs across factors such as teacher tenure, school type, and subject area taught."
